Description
A beast carved in the round with the body stretched out flat and the head raised, looking upward. There is no mane: the head is that of a horned, long-bodied creature rather than a lion, with cloud scrollwork cut along the flanks and haunches.
The surface keeps the marks of the chisel and has a mottled grey-green tone that shifts with the light. The gallery photographs show the piece from several angles, including one taken with a measuring rule in frame.
Dimensions: 23 × 10 × 23 cm (L × W × H) / 9.1 × 3.9 × 9.1 in. Est. weight 7–8.6 kg (15–19 lb). Weight is an estimate from volume and stone density, not a scale reading.
