Description
A ruyi sceptre carved in one piece, with a rounded head at each end and a slender shaft between them. Both heads and the shaft carry scrollwork and cloud motifs cut in shallow relief.
The profile is flat and narrow, so the piece sits low and can be laid flat on a desk or shelf. The surface keeps the marks of the chisel. The gallery photographs show the piece from several angles, including hand-held views to show scale.
Dimensions: 20 × 5.5 × 4 cm (L × W × H) / 7.9 × 2.2 × 1.6 in. Est. weight 0.75–0.9 kg (1.7–2.0 lb). Weight is an estimate from volume and stone density, not a scale reading.
